Magda de Jong: recorder, Christiaan Ingelse: harpsichord

Magda de Jong

At the age of ten Magda de Jong started playing the recorder at the school of music "Nieuwe Waterweg-Noord" under Jan Hofland. At first she concidered the recorder to be a beginners' instrument but soon she felt in love with the sound of the recorder. As a result of it she opted for music. Magda studied at the "Rotterdams Conservatorium" under Thera de Clerck and 1995 she completed her study under Han Tol. As a soloist Magda plays together with several accompanists such as Rien Donkersloot and Gerben Mourik. In "Duo Passionate" she plays together with Jaap-Jan de Rooij. She also works together with conductor Patrick v.d. Linden. Already during her study but surely after the final examination she also started to set up a teaching practice. First in Schiedam, later on in Gouda at the Voorwillenseweg where a dream was realized by the building of the "Fluithuis" ("House of the recorder") (since then known all over Gouda and surroundings). In this characteristic room she teaches young and old on all kinds of recorders. These different kinds of recorders are also used in the ensembles and quartets, in which one can take lessons too.
